Guidelines for the OAAC Online TOCQ

Participating and/or Qualifying at an OAAC TOC qualifier will NOT give a student an advantage at the TOC.

1.) All students taking a test must be monitored at all times. Documentation must be submitted. (sample)

2.) Only students taking the scheduled test(s) for that time period are allowed to be in the testing room during the test. Students may leave the room once their test has been completed.

3.)Students taking multiple tests must wait until the next testing session begins to start their next test.

4.) The tests will be open on the specified dates. Tests may be taken at any time during those dates, within the same test/same time specifications.

2024-25 Schedule.

  • November 11-December 15 Fall Open Online TOCQ

  • January 13 - February 21 - Winter Open Online TOCQ

  • February 24 - March 14 - Last Chance Online TOCQ

5.) Students enrolled in the following tests must take the test at the same time the other students in their grade are testing, but not at the same

time students in other grades are taking that subject test.

Grade level mathematics and advanced mathematics

There will be a grade level mathematics test for 6th Grade and 7th Grade and 8th grade will take PreAlgebra. A 6th grade student taking 7th grade math or PreAlgebra will test at the grade level of the mathematics class in which they are enrolled. Students enrolled in advanced mathematics - Algebra I and up will take the test that corresponds with the class in which they are enrolled.

  • Students taking the Mathematics test for 6th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Mathematics test for 7th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Pre Algebra test, regardless of grade, must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Algebra I test, regardless of grade, must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Geometry test, regardless of grade, must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Algebra II test , regardless of grade, must test on the same date at the same time.

Other subject/grade test information.

  • Students taking the Social Studies test for 6th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Social Studies test for 7th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Social Studies test for 8th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Language Arts test for 6th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Language Arts test for 7th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Language Arts test for 8th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Science test for 6th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Science test for 7th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Science test for 8th grade must test on the same date at the same time.

The two exceptions to the same test/grade division are current events and humanities & fine arts.  All students, regardless of grade, from a school district will take the current events test on the same date at the same time and the humanities & fine arts test at the same time.

  • Students taking the Current Events test for 6 - 7 - 8 grade must test on the same date at the same time.

  • Students taking the Humanities & Fine Arts test for 6 - 7- 8 grade must test on the same date at the same time

6.) It is permissible for a district to spread the tests over multiple events. For example: A school might enter their 6-8 current events students, 6th grade mathematics students and 8th grade science students in the November TOCQ then all of their other grade/subject students in January. A school must follow the same test/grade guidelines listed above.

The district may not enter 1 6th grade math student on one tournament date and two 6th grade math students on a different tournament date.

7.) It would be permissible for a student (or students) to take all 6 tests, as long as the same-test-same-time rule was being followed.

7.) Each school will set-up their own time schedule.

8.) A student may only take the OAAC Online test for a specific grade/subject once. A school may attend as many non-OAAC TOCQs as they would like. (Invitationals)

TOCQ Enrollment

A new platform to register for the TOCQ is now live. Please follow the steps in the Guide below to register students for tests.

Invitational TOCQ Events
Anchor 1

Here is a list of non-OAAC TOCQ events across the state. Some have vague or no dates because I do not have current information on that tournament.

Several of the invitational tournaments include 3rd, 4th and 5th grade events as well as 6th, 7th and 8th. Younger grade students cannot qualify for TOC without forfeiting their eligibility in the future. However, they can get some great experience!

This is not a complete list. If you participate in a scholastic tournament that is not listed below, please send the information to Erika at Erika@oaac.org
