We have a new scoring machine this year which requires us to enter more data on the forms before the tournament begins.
It is extremely important to have all entries by April 13 and changes by April 15.
The OAAC Tournament of Champions is at Redlands Community College on Saturday, April 18. Conflict testing starts at 4:00 on Friday afternoon, April 17.
Schedule for 2009 TOC
Friday Night -- 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Tests will start ON THE HOUR.
All tests are available each hour.
The last test begins at 7:00
Saturday Schedule
Packet & Information Pickup opens - 9:00 A.M. - If there are no changes to your submitted and approved enrollment, neither you or your students
need to be at the testing site until 30 - 45 minutes before their first scheduled test.*Off-time Testing (for students with a testing schedule conflict) - 10:00 - 11:00 AM
Language Arts and Social Studies tests - 11:00 A.M. - 11:50 P.M.
Science and Current Events tests- 12:00 - 12:50 P.M.
Humanities and Math tests - 1:00 - 1:50 P.M.
Awards will be presented as soon as the results are tabulated (approximately 3:00 P.M.)
First, second and third place in each subject and for each grade level will receive a trophy. All participants will receive a certificate of achievement.
*If two of your students tests are scheduled during the same time slot, they will take the conflicting test at 10:00 AM or during the Friday night session.
Humanities Specifications The humanities test for 2008 will focus on the time period between 1400 & 1527. 60% of the questions will come from general humanities. Any questions about a specific work of art or artist, a specific composition or composer, or a specific piece of literature or author will be from that time period.
TOC Scholar - A TOC Scholar trophy will be given for each grade level, 6, 7 & 8. The TOC Scholar will be the student with the highest point total from all six TOC tests. To be eligible for the TOC Scholar award a student must qualify in 4 individual tests. The student must be able to take two tests on Friday night and four tests on Saturday. All students competing for the TOC Scholar award will take their tests in the same order. Friday Night between 4 & 8 Mathematics then Social Studies. Saturday 10:00 - Science; 11:00 - Language Arts; 12:00 - Current Events; 1:00 - Humanities

Early entries appreciated.Entry Fee for the Tournament of Champions is $ 5.00 per student per test.
To qualify for participation in the Tournament of Champions a student must:
1. Be in sixth, seventh or eighth grade.
2. Place first, second or third on a curricular or scholastic test in language arts, humanities, math, science, current events, reading or social studies (2008-2009 school year).
If the qualifying tournament is still giving tests in English and reading - both the English 1-3 and reading 1-3 will qualify for the language arts test.
3. The competition where the placing occurred should have including ten or more participating schools.
4. Students placing first, second or third as individuals in MATHCOUNTS Regional and the top 5 individuals from the State competition qualify to take the math test.
5. Students qualifying for the state Geography Bee qualify to take the social studies test.
6. Students placing 1-3 at the state level OSSM mathematics competition qualify to take the mathematics test.
There will be a 4 hour session on Friday, April 18 for those students with conflicts for the 19th. Friday night testing begins at 4:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required for the Friday night session.
